Shiva Day One
This Shravan month or Sawan Mahina, I am going to explore how the concept of God is treated in the Vedas and many other ancient scriptures. I have been always curious while being an informal student of philosophy, theology, and non-religious science to find my creator. I am just trying to find pieces of evidence in ancient texts across all religions about the various manifestations of God. I have picked on the Vedas as the oldest recorded scripture and find it evolutionary in defining the concept of God. To my logical reasoning and comparing with the knowledge of this millennium I have found some similarities.
Vedanta
is a library of a research thesis that was documented in the last twelve thousand
years. The ancient rishis of India were the ones who gave the maximum
contribution to the Vedas and in return, they lived with the minimum.
It is also very auspicious for a good start or “Shubh
Aarambh.” It is the holiest month of the year for the Hindus. According to
Hindu scriptures, each day in the month of Shravan is considered highly
auspicious and has a special spiritual significance.
· Monday: It is dedicated
to the worshiping of Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva is the ruler of the Moon.
· Tuesday: It is dedicated to the worshiping of Mata
Gauri. It brings good health and peace to their family.
· Wednesday: It is dedicated
to “Vithala” an incarnation of Lord Vishnu or Shri Krishna.
· Thursdays: It is dedicated to the worship of Guru.
· Friday: Dedicated to
the worship of Goddess Lakshmi or Tulsi.
· Saturday: It is dedicated to the worship of Shani
Deva. It is known as Shravan Saturdays or Sampat Sanivara.
· Sunday: It is dedicated to the
worship of the Sun God. It is practiced since the Vedic times.
