Celebrating Shravan with Shiva -22

 Shiva Day Twenty-two

The Concept of God in Hinduism by Swami Krishnanada

1.  Manu says in his Smriti: In the beginning, all this existence was one Undifferentiated Mass of Unmanifestedness, unknown, indefinable, unarguable, and unknown in every way. From this Supreme, Condition arose the Universe of name and form, through the medium of the Self-existent Creator, Swayambhu.

The Laws of Manu or Manusmriti are part of an ancient Hindu text originally written in Sanskrit. It is part of the Dharmasastras, a compilation of the religious ethics (Dharma) put forth by Hindu gurus in ancient Indian scriptures. Manu was himself an ancient sage. According to followers of Hinduism, the Dharmic laws govern not only the individual but all in society.

In the Bhagavad Gita (BG 4.1) Shree Krishna informs Arjun that the knowledge being imparted unto him is not newly created for the convenience of motivating him into battle. It is the same eternal science of Yoga that he originally taught to Vivasvan, or Surya, Sun God, who imparted it to Manu, the original progenitor of humankind; Manu, in turn, taught it to Ikshvaku, the first king of the solar dynasty. This is the descending process of knowledge, where someone who is a perfect authority on the knowledge passes it down to another who wishes to know
